LEAD PAINT INSPECTION

Here at Western Resources Inc, we carefully and accurately test all types of painted surfaces to determine if you home or work place is at risk of lead paint exposure. We use proven methods such as using a portable X-ray fluorescence machine to precisely measure the level of lead contamination painted onto your walls, windows, window sills, cabinets, banisters, and other surfaces.

XRF instruments measure lead in paint by directing high energy X-rays and gamma rays into the paint, causing the lead atoms the paint to emit X-rays which are detected by the instrument and converted to a measurement of the amount of lead in the paint. XRF is the preferred method for lead testing as it is fairly accurate, quantitative, non-destructive, and offers results instantaneously. However, if XRF readings are non-conclusive for certain reasons, a paint chip sample is tested in the laboratory. We at ENV Air Pro, also perform Lead Dust Sampling and Post-Abatement Clearance Tests. Renovation activities that disturb lead-based paint can create lead dust so proper cleanup after these jobs is critical. The purpose of lead dust clearance is to determine if the area is safe for re-occupancy.
